Does the NDIS pay for cleaning?
In many cases, yes — cleaning support can be funded under a participant's NDIS plan where it's reasonable and necessary because of their disability. Exactly what's available depends on your individual plan, so this guide explains how it generally works rather than promising a specific outcome.
Which funding category covers cleaning?
Cleaning support is generally funded under Core Supports, specifically the Assistance with Daily Life budget. This category covers everyday support that helps a participant live independently, which can include household tasks like cleaning where it's related to their disability support needs.
How much can I use for cleaning?
There's no fixed number of hours set by the NDIS for cleaning specifically — it comes down to what's been assessed as reasonable and necessary in your plan, and how much of your Core Supports budget you choose to allocate to it versus other daily-life supports. Your plan manager or support coordinator can tell you exactly what's available and how much you've already used.
How invoicing works, by plan type
- NDIA-managed: we invoice through the NDIS myplace portal directly against your plan.
- Plan-managed: we invoice your plan manager, who pays us from your allocated funding.
- Self-managed: we invoice you directly, and you claim the cost back against your plan.
What if I'm not sure what's covered?
Every plan is different, and only your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIS itself can confirm exactly what your plan covers and how much funding is available. If you'd like, we're happy to talk through how our service works so you (or your coordinator) can check it against your plan.

We're an NDIS registered provider and work with participants who are NDIA-managed, plan-managed or self-managed. See our NDIS cleaning services or refer a participant if you're a support coordinator.
